11/20/2019 Monforte prepares to release its first tourist hostel, which comes to complete the offer of services that the city has at a hotel level. To the hotels, pensions and rural tourism houses, which delight the visitor, this hostel is added, located precisely on Santiago Street, No. 15 of the city of Cabe.
The Santiago 15 will have 50 places in closed bunk beds distributed in shared rooms in 4 modules. There will be a buffet breakfast service and will offer tourist activities to its clients, such as city tours, hiking or cycling routes along the Ribeira Sacra, wine tourism, etc.
This new hostel is presented as an ideal accommodation for pilgrims, and also for organized groups, such as school trips or sports meetings.
The city receives more and more tourists and visitors attracted by the heritage and cultural resources of the City Council and the Ribeira Sacra territory. Monforte is also an essential part of the Winter Way, being the nucleus from which the necessary kilometers are made to obtain the Compostela. Therefore, it receives many pilgrims passing by and pilgrims who start the journey here and demand this type of overnight service.
The Monforte City Council relies on the success of this private initiative, which expands the offer of tourist services in the municipality and encourages other promoters interested in carrying out initiatives of this type that improve the supply of services in the City Council and promote the city contributing to economic dynamism.
