03/07/2019 The tourist resources available to the City Council of Monforte need time to get to know it. The monuments and museums are some of the main attractions of this Tourist Municipality of Galicia, but also the territory of the city council has many natural and scenic attractions.
If the visitor seeks contact with nature, the neighbors are well aware of where to evade within the own municipal capital. The city has parks and gardens in all neighborhoods, but there are spaces that are especially interesting, such as the San Vicente hillside and Parque de los Loureiros or Parque de los Condes.
From the Parque de los Condes you can start two beautiful walks on the banks of River Cabe. One of them is following the river within the city by the river walk and the other, runs just in the opposite direction, taking us to Piñeira on a slightly longer walk in which we accompany the course of Cabe.
The fact is that the river Cabe is the main natural resource in the city and its surroundings, and offers spaces of great beauty and tranquility in places like the recreational area of Ribasaltas and Villanueva.
Monforte is the end of the fourth stage of the Winter way to Compostela and the beginning of the fifth stage, which will take the walker to Chantada. Making the way is always an attractive leisure option for anyone who wants to be in touch with nature.
And if we continue wanting nature, we are in the capital of Ribeira Sacra, declared BIC territory and for which is pursued that UNESCO declare it a World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve. An appointment with an overflowing nature can take us to the Mirador del Duque over the vineyards on terraces of the Sil River or to the Doade pier from which to enjoy a new perspective and from where the demanded catamaran trips begin by the Sil Canyon .
