06/03/2023 Monforte de Lemos hosts on the Paseo del Malecón, from June 30 to July 2nd, a new edition of the Monforte Ribeira Sacra Wine Festival. A different proposal with a wide program of activities that revolve around wine, the true protagonist of the Festival for being a vehicle capable of uniting history, tradition, culture and landscape.
In this edition there will be 30 wineries: Abadía da Cova, Adega Vella, Algueira, Alma das Donas, Asolagados, Barbadelo, Casa de Outeiro, Adega Corzoás, Cividade, Condado de Sequeiras, Cruceiro, Don Bernardino, EDV, Finca Cuarta, Finca Míllara, Galanteiro, Guímaro, Gullufre, Lucenza, Malcavada, Petrón, Peza do Rei, Ponte da Boga, Priscillvs, Rectoral de Amandi, Sabaínzas, Tear, Tolo do Xisto, Val da Lenda, Viña Vella.
The opening and closing times of the stands of the Wine Festival will be on Friday, June 30, from 7 pm to 12 pm. On Saturday, July 1st, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and from 7 p.m. to 12 p.m. and Sunday, July 2nd, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
There will be a Gastronomy Zone with products from the region. There will be children's workshops in the morning and afternoon and sensory analysis workshops for adults on the different varieties of wine. Alejandro Paadín will hold a MASTERCLASS on Sunday at 12:30 p.m., “Ribeira Sacra Wines vs International Wines”. These activities are free and will take place in the area set up as a Tasting Room within the Paseo del Malecón enclosure. There are 5 performances on the Malecón, on two stages, behind the ambulatory and another at the height of the Civic Center. The objective is "for a lot of people to visit us during the three days that the event will last, which ultimately should be the culmination of all the fairs that are held in various city councils of the Denomination of Origin in the south of the province of Lugo" says the mayor, José Tomé.
