06/19/24 The Festival will take place as usual, around the boardwalk. As a novelty this year, a porch will be installed at the entrance to the Festival, which will also serve as a photocall and there will be an important shading area. Throughout the Festival there will be different information totems with the program of activities.
On July 5th, the Festival will open its doors from 7:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. On the weekend it will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., although on Sunday it will close at 12:00 a.m.
In this edition there will be 34 participating wineries: A Man de Prado, Abadía da Cova, Adega Carqueixa, Adega Vella, Algueira, Alma das Donas, Alouviño, Asolagados, Cardenal R. de Castro, Castrofiz, Cividade, Condado de Sequeiras, Corzoás, Cruceiro, Don Bernardino, Finca Cuarta, Finca Míllara, Galanteiro, Guímaro, Gullufre, Lucenza, Malcavada, Os Cipreses, Pazo de la Cuesta, Petrón, Peza do Rei, Ponte da Boga, Rectoral de Amandi, Regina Viarum, Santa Mª de Nogueira, Tear, Tolo do Xisto, Vía Romana, Viña Vella.
The Festival will have a Gastronomy Area that will help to better accompany the wine tasting. There will be a total of 12 participants spread throughout the venue, who will offer local products, from cheeses, ham stands, artisan ice cream, bakeries and even more elaborate portions made by restaurants in Monforte de Lemos.
Complementary activities
On Friday, July 5th, the inauguration and proclamation will take place, which will be given by Antonio Lombardía Crespo, President of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Ribeira Sacra. As a prologue, at 8:30 p.m. will perform The Royal Bagpipe Band of the Ourense Provincial Council. The Gin Toni's Group will perform on this day at 11:00 p.m.
On Saturday, July 6th, at 11:00 p.m., it will be the turn of a group from Monforte, Malenne, which includes in its repertoire the best-known versions of Spanish pop and indie rock.
There will be two tasting workshops: on July 6th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., will take place the practical and sensory workshop “Oenologist for a day in the Ribeira Sacra” by Iván Olmedo, member of the Association Galician Winemakers and on July 7th, at the same time, the sensory workshop “Discover… Ribeira Sacra Soils: Slate vs. Granito” by David Pascual, winemaker and president of the Galician Association of Winemakers.
There will be two Masterclass sessions taught by Isabel Lozano and Roberto Gándara from the Association of Sommeliers of Galicia. They will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.: On Saturday, July 6th, will take place a masterclass titled “Old World Wines that Remind Ribeira Sacra” nd on Sunday, July 7th, “Terriña: soil, climate, varieties and elaboration in the Ribeira Sacra”.

The Ribeira Sacra of Monforte Wine Festival will have children's activities, next to the River Cabe. On Saturday 6th, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., will take place the Storytelling by Anxo Moure. And from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Puppets by the Tarabelos company. On Sunday 7th, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. a traditional pottery workshop from the Ribeira Sacra by Figulus. And from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. a Showcooking given by Velaísca Animación.
“If the weather is with us,” the Mayor stressed, “we are sure that this edition of the Wine Festival will attract thousands of visitors to Monforte and the entire Ribeira Sacra, who will help us boost the economy of the region. particularly the world of wine, hostelry and commerce.”
Wineroutes through the River Sil and Miño
The Wineroutes will depart from Parque de los Condes. Wineroute of the Sil, Quads through the Ribeira del Sil will take place on Saturday, July 6th, leaving at 9:30 a.m. and will consist of a half-day Quad route. This wineroute has a price of €55 per person. On Sunday, July 7th, the wineroute of the Miño, Getting to know the Ribeira del Miño in Zodiac, which will allow you to get to know the riverbanks of the Miño in Zodiac. The price is €40 per person.
