On March 24th, 2025, the Lugo Provincial Council has just opened the 2025 season of the Ribeira Sacra river routes, one of the province's most outstanding tourist attractions. The routes have generated great excitement and a 22% increase in bookings compared to the same period last year. The River Routes offer a sustainable tourism model by deseasonalizing demand and boosting economic development in all regions of the province, serving as a key economic driver for the Ribeira Sacra region.

The two routes will continue for the new season: the Sil Canyon River Route, which departs from the Ponte do Sil Provincial Council pier in Monforte de Lemos and lasts two hours; and the Cabo do Mundo River Route, which departs from Belesar Pueblo in O Saviñao and travels along the Miño River, lasting approximately two hours.
The Sil Canyon River Route will operate two trips with a total capacity of 159 passengers, comprising 107 on the catamaran Mencía and 53 on the monohull Canón do Sil. This month, routes will operate on the 29th and 30th, with morning schedules from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In April, due to Holy Week, there will be uninterrupted service from Monday the 14th to Sunday the 16th, operating on the Mencía route, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on the Canyon route from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For the rest of the month, the Diputación catamarans will sail from Wednesday to Sunday on the Sil Canyon route, and in the case of Cabo do Mundo, there will be trips on weekends.
In May, the route will be available from Wednesday to Sunday, with departures at 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday on weekends. On the May 1st long weekend, due to the Labor Day holiday, departures will be at 11:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for Mencía, and at 11:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for the Sil Canyon.
During June, July, August, and September, there will be routes from Monday to Sunday, with morning, afternoon, and evening schedules. Starting October 1st, they will operate from Wednesday to Sunday, and in November, they will operate on weekends.
