04/09/2020 On April 11th and 12th, during the Easter weekend, Monforte hosted the 18th edition of its Medieval Fair. The city dresses in Medievo and for two days, Montfortin@s and visitors take a walk the streets and squares of the city participating in different activities. The state of alarm decreed with the sanitary crisis of the coronavirus prevents the Fair from being held on the scheduled date; but we can revive it taking advantage of these Easter days.

With the Medieval Fair, Monforte remembers one of the most splendid times in the city, as shown by the Castillo de San Vicente with its Homage Tower commanding the Lemos Valley. We are in the time of Lemos County, which in its main branch had the Casa de los Castro, patrons of writers and artists who stood out for their philanthropy and interest in social and intellectual advances.
An example of that past is also the Convent of the Poor Clares and the entire collection of sacred art that it treasures, one of the most important in Spain; or the wall and the entire old city within the walls that tell us about the importance of the Jewish presence in Monforte.
